Don't delay saying yes to Jesus
pastor corner

Walking is not necessarily one of my favorite things to do, but I realize it is good for me.
I need to practice this activity at least four times per week but rarely do it once per month, but I am planning to be more committed since I am on a diet for at least the next 30 days. While recently walking in my neighborhood, I just happened to be looking down at the road when, out of the corner of my eye, I spotted something that alarmed me. I thought it was a snake that I was about to step on, so I jumped backward about as quickly as I have moved of late.
The good news is that it was only a small rope.
The truth I want to get across is this: Inside me was a sudden sense of urgency. What I needed to do, I needed to do quickly.
The same is true when we think about spiritual decisions. The problem for many is that there is not this sense of urgency. There are those who know that they need to be a follower of Jesus Christ yet do nothing about it.
In 1 Corinthians 6:2, we are told that “now is the day of salvation.” It’s not that if you don’t do it today you can never do it, but the fact is that we are not guaranteed that we will even be alive tomorrow.
Another problem is that if we say no today, it is much easier to say no tomorrow and keep putting it off. Another truth is that saying no to Jesus is not like saying no to a sales proposal, for with saying no to Jesus comes eternal consequences.
The good news is that God has made it possible for anyone and everyone who desires a changed life to have it. He has offered peace, the forgiveness of sins and eternal life to us all.
