Celebrate true meaning of Easter

What do you think of when you think of Easter? We need to understand that there is a secular celebration as well as a spiritual one. I don’t think there is a problem with celebrating both as long as we don’t somehow mingle them together. On the secular side we have the Easter bunny, coloring and finding eggs, special decorations and of course candy. On the spiritual side there is of course the celebration of our risen Savior Jesus Christ with special services and events that day and the preceeding week. What we need to understand is that one of the most significant events took place over 2000 years ago that impacted Christianity; the raising to life of Jesus Christ who died for the sins of the world. Christianity is the only religion that claims to have a savior that is alive. The Bible tells us that He rose from the grave and is now sitting at the side of God the Father interceding for those of us who will ask for mercy and forgiveness.
This year as Easter approaches if we want to get involved with our kids or grandkids and hide eggs etc then we need to do it but let’s not fail to celebrate with them the original and real meaning of Easter
