Father’s Day does not receive the recognition that Mother’s Day receives personally or commercially. Personally, I think Father’s Day should have a greater appreciation and a greater recognition based on a biblical prospective.
The Bible says in John 3:16, “God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” That’s a lot of love displayed in a very positive way. God the Father emptied himself and gave us his best — his only son. The son emulated the Father: “But God commended his love toward us in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:8).” God had a lot of love for us, and he still does today.
Often, Earthly fathers neglect their duties and fail to cherish the opportunity to love their children. If you were abused or neglected by your father as a child, love yourself and use this as an opportunity to experience the love of God. God’s love goes the distance, and his love never fails.
Every child wants to be loved by their father, and good fathers want the love of their children. One of my greatest joys of being a father came when my children were small and they made noise while running to the door, shouting “Daddy is home” upon my return from work. They did this every single day I came home from work. Sometimes, I had something for them, but they were looking for my embrace and my love. Today, all my children are grown, but they still look for my embrace and love.
Perhaps you haven’t experienced this type of love from your natural father, but I beseech you to try God’s love. The Bible says in 1 John 3:1, “Behold what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the children of God; therefore, the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.” God loves us unconditionally and, as a result of his love, he offers his grace to us as dear children.
God’s grace is displayed in Romans 5:20b: “But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound.”
There is nothing like the love of the Father. My dad is a good father, but one day I had to leave him and experience the world for myself. His love never stopped, but he couldn’t be with me all the time wherever I went. There were times in my life when things arose that he couldn’t get me out of, but God could. My heavenly father promises through his word that he would never leave us or forsake us but he would be with us (Deuteronomy 31:6).  
The Bible speaks of a natural father’s love and also showcases the love of God the Father in Luke 11: 13: “If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him.”
I encourage every person to experience the love of God.
