Willis, Dorminy to wed

Dr. Amy Elizabeth Willis, Jon Reid Dorminy

Mr. and Mrs. William "Bo" Willis of Vidalia are pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Dr. Amy Elizabeth Willis, to Jon Reid Dorminey, son of Rev. Sonny and Becky Dorminey of Claxton, formerly of Cordele, Georgia, and Greta and Brooks Livingston of Forsyth, Georgia.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late J. E. and Geneva Willis and the late George and Willie Mae Dukes, all of Vidalia, Georgia. The groom-elect is the grandson of the late J. T. and Alice Dorminey and Roscoe and Bessie Watson, all of Seville, Georgia. He is also the step-grandson of the late Forrest and Kitty Morgan of Cordele, Georgia.

Amy was the valedictorian of the 1998 graduating class of Montgomery County High School in Mount Vernon, Georgia. She was a 2002 magna cum laude graduate of Georgia Southern University receiving a bachelor of science in biology. In 2006, she graduated cum laude from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine.

Jon was a 1992 graduate of Crisp Academy of Cordele, Georgia. He was 1996 graduate of Georgia Southern University receiving a bachelor of science in health science. In 1999, he graduated from Georgia Southwestern State University with a masters in business administration. Currently, Jon is working on his masters in educational leadership from Canyon College.

Amy is employed as an associate veterinarian at the Claxton Veterinarian Clinic in Claxton, Georgia. Jon is employed as the headmaster of Pinewood Christian Academy in Bellville, Georgia.

The wedding is scheduled for July 12, 2008, at 5:30 p.m. at the Discovery at Marigot Bay, St. Lucia in the West Indies. A reception will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2008, at 6 p.m. at The Robin’s Nest in Statesboro, Georgia. All friends and family are invited to attend.

Following the wedding, the couple will make their home in Statesboro, Georgia.
