Van Voorhis, Murray announce wedding
Engagement plans call for May 17 ceremony in North Georgia

Mr. and Mrs. George Van Voorhis of Suches, Ga., are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Cara Michelle Van Voorhis to Mr. Gregory Thomas Murray, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Murray Sr. of Richmond Hill, Ga. Cara is a graduate of Lumpkin County High School and the University of Georgia with a master’s degree in social work. She is employed at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.

The bride elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Lou Nichols and the late Mr. Harold "Nick" Nichols of Suches and the late Mr. and Mrs. James "Jim" Van Voorhis of Jacksonville, Fla.

Gregory is a graduate of Richmond Hill High School and North Georgia College and State University with a bachelor’s degree in special education. he is the assistant women’s basketball coach at North Georgia College and State University and plans to pursue his master’s degree.

The groom elect is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. G.R. Stewart of Bloomingdale, Ga. and the late Ms. Deloris Boatright of Savannah, Ga, and the late Mrs. Christine McCullough of Oliver, Ga., and the late Mr. Thomas Holis Murray Sr. of Sylvania, Ga.

The wedding is planned for May 17, 2008 in Dahlonega, Ga.
