Grant, Barr wed on June 16 in Savannah

Candice Rosanne Grant and Christopher Michael Barr were married on Saturday, June 16, 2007 at Wesley Monumental United Methodist Church in Savannah, Ga. The Reverend Lowery Brantley officiated. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Grant of Richmond Hill, Ga. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Rozelle Pleas of Chipley, Fla. and the late Mr. Alex Pleas of Cottondale, Fla., and Dr. and Mrs. Wesley Grace of Port St. Joe, Fla.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Barr of Richmond Hill. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Barr of Lancaster, Pa. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Hildreth of Avalon, N.J.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride selected Catherine Corish as her maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Jessica (Cole) Bowling, Andrea Gaustad, sister of the groom, and Lindsey Messer. Flower girls were McKinley and Brantley Gay. The groom chose his father, Mike Barr, as best man. Groomsmen were Greg Barr, brother of the groom, and the bride’s brothers, Brian and Scott Grant. Austin Hartzell was the ring bearer and Eric Gaustad, the groom’s brother-in-law, and Jamie Jarrell served as ushers. A reception was held in the Scarborough Room at the Hyatt Regency in Savannah.

The bride is a graduate of Richmond Hill High School and Georgia Southern University. She received a bachelor of science in early childhood education and is employed as a second grade teacher at Richmond Hill Elementary School. The groom graduated from Richmond Hill High School and Georgia Southern University with a bachelor of business administration in accounting. He is employed with Woodlands Bank in Richmond Hill as a commercial lender. After a honeymoon in Mexico, the couple will reside in Richmond Hill.
