SAVANNAH — The second annual Women Rock! Savannah Conference is 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Saturday at the Coastal Georgia Center.

The conference is dedicated to women. Highlights will include honoring 15 military women from Fort Stewart with You Rock Awards, seminars on self-care, health, finance and relationships.

Co-founder Sharon Frame said the premise of the conference is that women need a safe space "where women can unmask and find comfort and synergy and collaboration and celebrate who they are; also get strategies and tips to maintain their health, self-love, wealth, community relations and personal relationships."

Frame described the speakers, who will touch on a variety of topics, as candid.

"We show them our backstory and talk about obstacles that we’ve faced," Frame said. "It connects with the audience on a very visceral level and we have fun."

The Rock awards celebrate women who do not seek recognition and are changing the way women are perceived.

The 15 military women were nominated by their peers and community. The women serve, but also extend themselves beyond the military, Frame said.

Veteran and author of Red Glory Tonya Bryant will join WSAV-TV anchor Tina Tyus Shaw in presenting the awards.

"We are looking to remind people that when you rock in life, you’re not rocking just for you," Frame said. "You’re sending a ripple effect out and affecting change in other people’s lives."

Tickets cost is $49. They cost $89 if you attend a Friday evening session for business owners. There is a 10 percent military ticket discount.
