The Bryan County Republican Party will host a Coastal Georgia Candidate Forum on 7 p.m. Thursday at the Richmond Hill City Center in J.F. Gregory Park.
All declared GOP candidates in and around Coastal Georgia who are running for Congress or state government have been invited. This event is part of the party’s membership drive.
Candidates in attendance will be given 5-10 minutes to address the audience and are invited to bring campaign signs, pamphlets and other items.
WTOC’s Sonny Dixon will emcee.

Senior Safari
Magnolia Manor on the Coast will hold its annual Senior Safari event at 4 p.m. Friday in support of the Savannah Coalition on Aging.
This year’s event theme is “The Wizard of Oz.”  Tickets are available to senior adults for $5 each and include an evening full of fun, live entertainment, delicious food and prizes.

Fort cleanup
Fort McAllister State Historic Park in Richmond Hill will host “Fort Rejuvenation = Preservation” cleanup from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Sept. 28 for Your State Parks Day.
Lunch will be provided and no fees will be charged for admission or parking for cleanup volunteers.

Club meeting

Volunteers needed
The Fort McAllister Sport Fishing Club is looking for inshore and offshore captains and boats for its annual Wounded Warrior Fishing Tournament set for Sept. 28 at Fort McAllister Marina. Volunteers may sign up at www.woundedwarriorfishing.com.
Those who would like to sponsor a boat to help with fuel costs or donate any supplies, food or funds for the soldiers, captains or the Family Appreciation Day set for Sept. 21 should call 912-308-3774.

Funds available
Living Independence for Everyone is seeking people with disabilities for related home modifications, including ramps, grab bars, lift chairs, hand controls and low-vision aids.
The program is open to individuals with disabilities living in Bryan, Bulloch, Camden, Chatham, Effingham, Evans, Glynn, Liberty, McIntosh, Tattnall and Toombs counties.
The nonprofit group’s funds must be used by Sept. 30, so those interested are asked to immediately contact LIFE at 912-920-2414 or 1-800-948-4824.
