The Bryan-Evans Retired Educators Association will meet at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Southern Image Restaurant in Richmond Hill.
The guest speaker is Kate Finch, president of the Georgia Retired Educators Association. The unit also will honor Richmond Hill Mayor Harold Fowler. 

Club meeting
The Richmond Hill Garden Club will hold its monthly meeting at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Richmond Hill Police Station due to a scheduling conflict at the John W. Stevens Wetlands Education Center.
This month’s speaker is John Paul Breault, Horticulture Garden Therapy and Activity Therapy director at Georgia Regional Hospital.
The Richmond Hill Garden Club for many years has been a supporter of Georgia Regional programs, such as the Christmas Stockings and Fig Leaf.

Art exhibit
Arts on the Coast Association has an exhibit at What’s The Scoop restaurant in the Crossroads Center at 2701 Hwy. 17, 1-B in Richmond Hill.
The exhibit is the work of association photography members and will be on display until Nov. 21.

Church revival

Beulah Baptist Church in Pembroke will have its revival at 7 p.m. through Thursday.
The Rev. Dan Bryant and church members invite the public to hear the Rev. Steve McCoy from South Newington bring the message.

Veterans ceremony
Richmond Hill will host its Veterans Day observance at 11 a.m. Friday in J. F. Gregory Park.
The 3rd ID Color Guard will present the colors and guest speakers will include Mayor Harold Fowler, Paul Spence, Ana Parodi, Bill Helms and 2nd Heavy Brigade Combat Team commander Col. Douglas C. Cardinale of Fort Stewart. “Taps” will be played by Richmond Hill Police Officer Tim Saia.

Gospel event

The Harvest of Blessings gospel group will sing Nov. 12 at Beulah Baptist Church  in Pembroke.
The evening will begin with dinner at 6 p.m., and the performance begins at 7 p.m. The cost is $6 for adults and $4 for children.

Asperger support
November’s Asperger Support Group meeting is at 7 p.m. Nov. 16 at the Richmond Hill Public Library’s community room. Note that the meeting is on Wednesday instead of the usual Tuesday.
Mike Kruse, a U.S. Chess Federation champion, will be a guest at the meeting. He will talk about the benefits of playing chess, including how playing chess can help people with Asperger’s Syndrome.

Volunteers needed

The Southeast Georgia Chapter of the American Red Cross is seeking volunteers for its disaster action teams. Volunteers are needed to provide emergency assistance to victims of disasters and preparedness education to the community.
Orientation is required. Volunteers are needed in Bryan, Effingham, Chatham and Liberty counties.

Time for Peace
Spirit of Peace Lutheran Church will hold contemplative services from 6:30-7 p.m. each Wednesday until Nov. 16 at the church at 15985 Hwy. 144, Richmond Hill.
The public is invited to these services, which will feature guided and silent prayer, times of meditation and reflection on the Scriptures.

Church bazaar

Richmond Hill United Methodist Church is gearing up for its legendary Bar-B-Q, Bazaar and Silent Auction set for 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 19 at the church, 9050 Ford Ave.
Meal tickets and pre-orders for hams, Boston butts, whole racks of ribs, quarts of potato salad and apples are available for advanced purchase.
