The South Bryan ministerial association will be honoring the National Day of Prayer by having a prayer service 6 p.m. in front of the old Bryan County Annex on Ford Avenue near the intersection of Hwy. 17. Everyone is encouraged to attend.

Bryan Masonic Lodge will have a barbecue butt sale from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the lodge at 33 Bass St., Richmond Hill. Butts are $25.

Children’s drama

The Children’s Drama Ministry will present “Down by the Creek Bank,” at 7 p.m. May 11 at Richmond Hill United Methodist Church, 9050 Ford Ave.
The event is free, and the public also is invited to a 5:45 p.m. dinner. The cost is $5 per adult, $3 per child and a maximum of $15 per family.

Library meeting

The Bryan County Library Board will meet at 5 p.m. May 11 at the Richmond Hill Public Library. This meeting is open to the public.

Free screening
The Georgia Skin and Cancer Clinic will offer a free melanoma screening from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. May 13 at 900 Mohawk St. in Savannah. Each participant will receive a ticket to be entered in a drawing.

Canoe trips
Fort King George will conduct canoe trips on the majestic Altamaha River at 9 a.m. on Saturday and May 21.
The first trip will take place at Barrington Lake, the location of historic Fort Barrington in the Revolutionary Era, ancient beach dunes and centuries-old tupelo and willow swamps. The second trip will run from Miller Lake, down the Altamaha, and take out at Barrington Lake. Visitors will pass by historic bluffs, one of which was home to famous Georgian Mary Musgrove in the colonial era.
Both trips last about three hours and will involve guided natural and historical interpretation.
The cost is $25 per person and includes canoes, paddles and life jackets. Visitors should bring their own snacks, sunscreen and bug spray. Meet at Fort King George Historic Site Museum.

Purchase a Boston butt for $20 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. May 27 at the Richmond Hill Senior Center at 185 Ball Park Road.
