Parents are invited to Richmond Hill Middle School’s 3rd Parent Involvement Workshop — “Standards for Success”— an introduction to Common Core Georgia Performance Standards, a national initiative to prepare America’s students for college and career success (www.corestandards.org).

Guest speaker at Bethel Baptist  
The Immortal Six Hundred Camp 2600 of the Sons of Confederate Veterans presents speaker John Latty at 7 p.m. Thursday at Bethel Baptist Church, Highway 17 at the I-95 overpass. There is no charge. Latty is author of “The Gallant Little 7th” and “A Place Called Calvary, A History of Calvary Baptist Church of Gainesville, Georgia.”
He will speak on the 7th Regiment of Georgia and the Hardwick Mounted Rifles. The public is invited.

Retired educators to meet
The Bryan -Evans Retired Educators Association will have its monthly meeting in Richmond Hill on March 13. at Southern Image restaurant. The guest spekere will be WTOC weatherman John Weatherbee.He will speak on emergency  weather.  The BEREA also wants to encourage all retired educators to attend and look forward to seeing you there.

Pork Steak Dinner March 31
Pembroke Christian Church will host its annual Pork Steak Dinner on March 31 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dinners are $7 each.

Fundraiser for RHMS sports

Richmond Hill Middle School will be selling chicken dinners on March 31 to benefit the school’s athletic programs.
Dinners consist of half a grilled chicken, green beans, potato or pasta salad, tea and a roll. The cost is $10 per dinner. Cheerleaders also will be selling baked goods during the event.

Volunteers needed at Senior Centers
The Bryan County Senior Centers are in need of volunteers to deliver meals to homebound clients from 10 a.m. to noon Monday-Friday in the Richmond Hill and Pembroke areas.
