The annual CATS PRIDE Night for eighth-graders and their parents will be from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at Richmond Hill High School.
CATS PRIDE — which stands for Communicating Achievement with Teachers, Students and Parents Results in Developing Excellence — is a program to help eighth-graders transition better to high school.  
More than 35 extra-curricular activities will be represented during this event.  Parents and students will be able to talk with representatives and get involved with teams and clubs.
The RHHS band, cheerleaders, chorus and JROTC will perform throughout the evening.

Congressional Day Office
A representative of Congressman Jack Kingston’s office will be in Bryan County to meet with anyone who needs assistance with a federal agency.
This Congressional Day Office will be from 9-11 a.m. Thursday at Richmond Hill City Hall.

Easter events
The annual Easter Extravaganza hosted by New Beginnings Community Church will begin at 11 a.m. March 30 with more than 30,000 plastic eggs ready for the taking.
After the egg hunt, there will be free hot dogs, drinks and chips, along with free pictures with the Easter Bunny. Bounce houses, games and entertainment will also be provided.

The Pembroke Downtown Development Authority and Pembroke United Methodist Church will host the Eggstravaganza Easter Egg Hunt beginning at 9 a.m. March 30 in the downtown area.
The event will feature the traditional egg hunt with small prizes in some eggs. The Easter Bunny will be in attendance and prize baskets will be given away. This event also marks the opening of the city’s Whistlestop Farmers Market.

Free trash day
Bryan County’s Free Trash Day will be from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. April 6 at Spur 144 Landfill in Richmond Hill and Millcreek Landfill in Ellabell.
Items that will be accepted at no charge are all bulk items and yard waste and automobile tires, with a limit of four tires per person.
Items that will not be accepted are household garbage, wet paint, chemicals, oil and tractor and semi-truck tires.
