“Assault Rifles of the Civil War” will be presented at 11 a.m. Saturday at Fort McAllister State Historic Park.
Rangers will be at the fort to demonstrate with a display of Civil War “assault rifles” to help explain and elaborate on the uses of these weapons.
Admission is $7.50 per adult, $4.50 per child age 5-older and $6.50 per senior. Children 5-younger are admitted free.

Health insurance help

Those looking for help enrolling for insurance through the Affordable Care Act can meet with certified navigator Whitney Griggs from 1-6 p.m. Tuesday at the Richmond Hill Public Library.
Griggs will be available to answer questions about the Affordable Care Act and to help consumers enroll in the new health insurance marketplace.

Asperger support

‘The Richmond Hill Asperger support group will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Richmond Hill Public Library.
The guest speakers will talk about the benefits of therapeutic yoga for children and adults with special needs.

The Richmond Hill Epilepsy support group will have its first meeting from 7 to 9 p.m. March 24 at the Richmond Hill Public Library.

Plant exchange

The Richmond Hill Garden Club will host its annual Plant Exchange from 10 a.m. to noon April 12 at the J.F. Gregory Park pavilion.  
Each person attending is asked to bring as many plants as possible to swap with others or simply to give away.  
Those who don’t have plants to swap are still encouraged to come, meet members and learn about the garden club, trade expert advice about plants, and take home plants new to them.  There are always extras to share.
All types of plants are welcome: vegetable seedings, annuals, perennials, bulbs, landscape shrubs, trees and houseplants.

Ride for Pride
The Red Knights Ride for Pride fundraiser is set for 9:30 a.m. March 2.
Registration is at Harley Davidson store near Highway 204 and I-95. The first motorcycle/car leaves at 10 a.m., the last leaves at 11:30 a.m.
A poker hand is $15 with additional hands for $5. The ride ends in Richmond Hill.
Funds raised will benefit the Richmond Hill High School Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps.
