Support group
The Sarcoidosis Support Group will meet at noon Thursday in room 3 on the second floor of the heart and lung building of St. Joseph’s Candler Hospital, Savannah.
The group will meet again at noon July 13 in the conference room on the first floor of East Georgia Regional Hospital, Statesboro.

Library meeting
The Bryan County Library Board of Directors will hold a called meeting at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Pembroke Public Library to discuss applying for a state building grant.
The meeting is open to the public.

Canoe trip
Fort King George will conduct a canoe trip on the Altamaha River at 9 a.m. June 18. Meet at the Fort King George Historic Site Museum in Darien.
This four-hour trip will run from Miller Lake, down the Altamaha and take out at Barrington Lake. Visitors will pass by historic bluffs, one of which was home to famous Georgian Mary Musgrove in the colonial era.
The cost is $25 per person. Canoes, paddles and life jackets are included. Visitors should bring their own snacks, sunscreen and bug spray. Reservations are required.

Defense class
The Armstrong Atlantic State University Police Department will offer a free Rape Aggression Defense (RAD) class from 1-5 p.m. July 16, 23 and 30 at the university police headquarters on campus, 11935 Abercorn St., Savannah.
The 12-hour program is being split into three sessions and is available to women ages 18 and older.
The class begins with rape aggression awareness, prevention, risk reduction and avoidance, and then progresses on to the basics of hands-on defense training. Admission is free and open to students, staff and the public.
