The 150th anniversary of Henry Ford’s birth will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Richmond Hill Museum, 11460 Ford Ave.
The event will include the debut of the Coastal Bryan Heritage Trail interactive driving tour, a trivia challenge, tour information and app demonstration, prizes and giveaways. Food and beverages will be served.
The event is free to the public.

School open house

Bryan County students will head back to the classroom Aug. 5, but parents and students will first get the chance to visit their school and meet with teachers during the following open house dates:
Tuesday
• Richmond Hill Pre-K: 4-6 p.m.
• G.W. Carver Elementary: 5-7 p.m.
Wednesday
• Richmond Hill Primary: 4-6 p.m.
• Bryan County Middle: 6-8 p.m.
• Lanier Primary/North Bryan Pre-K: 5-7 p.m.
• Richmond Hill Elementary: 5-7 p.m.
Thursday
• Bryan County Elementary: 5-7 p.m.
• Richmond Hill Middle: 5-7 p.m.
• Bryan County High: 6-8 p.m.
• Richmond Hill High: 6-8 p.m.  

Fort event

The monthly First Saturday Fun at the Fort will be from 1-4 p.m. Aug. 3 at Fort King George State Historic Site in Darien.
Blacksmith Brad Spear, along with special guest Mark Henderson, will work the forge and produce various items for the fort garrison. The site ranger will also be present, as well as doing musket drills and conducting hands-on games for children.
Cost for admission is $7 and $4.

Volunteers needed
The Fort McAllister Sport Fishing Club is looking for inshore and offshore captains and boats for its annual Wounded Warrior Fishing Tournament set for Sept. 28 at Fort McAllister Marina. Volunteers may sign up at www.woundedwarriorfishing.com.
Those who would like to sponsor a boat to help with fuel costs or donate any supplies, food or funds for the soldiers, captains or the Family Appreciation Day set for Sept. 21 should call 912-308-3774.

Planning meeting
The Pembroke Planning and Zoning Commission will meet at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 8 at Pembroke City Hall.
Republican dinner
Bryan County Republicans are invited to a dinner meeting at 7 p.m. Aug. 13 at Southern Image, 3881 Highway 17 in Richmond Hill.The dinner is sponsored by state Rep. Ron Stephens.

Nurses for Nations
Nurses For the Nations is holding a charity gala dinner and silent auction at 6 p.m. Sept. 20 at the Mighty Eighth Air Force Museum, 175 Bourne Ave., Pooler. The Christian nonprofit group is raising funds to send medical supplies and teams to villages and tribes internationally that have little or no access to health care.  The special guest speaker is Jonathan Daniel from Zimbabwe, Africa.
