Democrats meeting
The Bryan County Democratic Committee will hold its monthly meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday at the Pembroke Public Library.  
All interested Democrats are invited to attend. Please join to share ideas and concerns.

Maureen Bozovich and her sister-in-law Stacey Bozovich of Richmond Hill will hold a barbecue dinner fundraiser from 4-8 p.m. July 27 at Lucky’s at Berwick, 5630 Ogeechee Road, Savannah.
The cover is $10 and includes a dinner plate and drink.
There will also be a silent auction and raffle.

Gospel concert
Restoration Worship Center will host its third annual Summer Youth Gospel Concert from 6-10 p.m. July 27 at the amphitheater in J.F. Gregory Park in Richmond Hill.
The concert will include a fashion show, Zumba and free school supplies.
The special guests for the evening will be the Gospel Echoes of Jacksonville, Fla., and the following are needed for youth talent: praise dancers, praise steppers, poets, soloists, duets, quartets, gospel rappers, choirs, etc.  
Bring lawn chairs and blankets and come prepared for an evening of awesome youth praise and worship.

Dolphin program
The Dolphin Project is hosting a program and training workshop from 10 a.m. to noon July 27 at the Southside Savannah Library behind Target on Abercorn Street.
The program will offer information about bottlenose dolphins that reside in Georgia and lower South Carolina estuaries.
The training workshop will offer information about participating on dolphin research surveys as well as more details about dolphin behavior.

Voice festival
The Savannah Voice Festival is set for August 3-17 at various venues and churches around Savannah.
The festival is a summer celebration of singing, opera, musical theater and song and will include concerts, free educational events and more than 100 artists.
Tickets start at $15 and season passes are available for $95. VOICE Society memberships are available as well.

Pembroke Night Out
The Pembroke “Night Out” will be from 5-8 p.m. Aug. 10 in downtown’s Dubois Square.
The event will include a unity walk, a dunk tank, children’s activities, hot dogs, safety displays, informational booths and more.
“Night Out” is sponsored by the Pembroke Police Department, the Pembroke Fire Department and the Bryan County Drug Free Coalition.

Pre-K vacancies

Bryan County Head Start/Pre-K, a federally funded program for preschool children from low-income families, has vacancies to fill before classes start Aug. 9.
Children participate in a variety of educational activities designed to improve school readiness. They also receive free medical and dental care, have healthy meals and snacks and enjoy quality play indoors and outdoors in a safe setting.
Bryan County Head Start/Pre-K is at 166 Bacontown Road in Pembroke. School hours for the pre-K class is 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and for the 3-year-olds class is 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
