Family and Friends Day
Mill Creek Baptist Church will hold its annual Family and Friends Day program at 4 p.m. Sunday at 327 Mill Creek Church Road in Ellabell. The speaker will be Pastor Sammie Kenty of Jerusalem Baptist Church and First Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Savannah.

Meeting rescheduled
The Richmond Hill Planning and Zoning Commission’s regular meeting set for Monday has been canceled.
The commission will instead hold a called meeting at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 6 at City Hall following a public hearing at 7 p.m.

Candidate forum
The Richmond Hill/Bryan County Chamber of Commerce will host a political forum Monday from at the Richmond Hill City Center. Networking will begin at 5:30 p.m. and the formal program will be from 6-8 p.m.

Bible school
New Beginnings Community Church will host vacation Bible school from 6-8 p.m. Monday-Friday at the church at the entrance to Buckhead North on Highway 144.

Called meeting
The Bryan County Board of Commissioners will hold a called meeting at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the County Administrative Complex in Richmond Hill.
The purpose of the meeting is to discuss health reimbursement, the fire chief position and the county’s 2013 proposed operating budget.

Lions Club
The July meeting of the Richmond Hill Lions Club is at 7 p.m. Thursday at the John W. Stevens Wetlands Education Center in J.F. Gregory Park. Club member Scott Yackel, chief pilot of Chatham County Aviation, will be the guest speaker for the evening.

Event postponed
Bryan County Relay For Life’s “Bark For Life” event slated for July 28 has been postponed due to extreme heat conditions for the safety of dogs and others.
The event will instead be held March 9, 2013, at J.F. Gregory Park in Richmond Hill. For more information, visit www.barkoutcancer.org.
