The Georgia Department of Natural Resources Coastal Resources Division will host two public information meetings on proposed legislative changes to the way saltwater fishing is regulated.
The first meeting is at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the John W. Stevens Wetlands Education Center in J.F. Gregory Park in Richmond Hill. The second is at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Southeast Georgia Conference Center on the campus of the College of Coastal Georgia in Brunswick.
Public input gathered at the meetings will be provided to the Georgia General Assembly for its use in considering new legislation.

Relay kickoff

Richmond Hill will host the 2012 Relay For Life of Bryan County. The American Cancer Society has teamed up Richmond Hill and North Bryan to make a bigger impact on Relay For Life in 2012.
Everyone is encouraged to attend the kickoff event at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Richmond Hill City Center in J.F. Gregory Park.

Goodwill Industries of the Coastal Empire will host a job fair from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.Saturday at its newest retail location in Richmond Hill.
Job seekers can pick up and drop off applications at the new site at 9701 Ford Ave., next to the new Dollar Tree.

Gold Star Wives
Gold Star Wives of the Coastal Empire will meet at 10 a.m. Friday at the Georgia National Guard Armory at 1248 Eisenhower Drive in Savannah.
The purpose of the meeting is to provide an opportunity for the Gold Star Wives of any era to meet each other, network and discuss benefits. The moderator of the meeting will be Patricia Barbee, a Gold Star wife from the Vietnam era.

Richmond Hill High School will host a second-semester open house from 5:30-7 p.m. Monday. Parents will have an opportunity to meet and greet their students’ second-semester teachers.

Volunteers needed

The Bryan County Senior Centers are in need of volunteers to deliver meals to homebound clients from 10 a.m. to noon Monday-Friday in the Richmond Hill and Pembroke areas.

Thrift store

Youth BBQ sale
The Richmond Hill Presbyterian Church Youth annual BBQ Sale will be held Feb. 4.
Boston butts, pulled pork and plate lunches will be available for pick up from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Mardi Gras ball
The Hinesville Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. will hold its second annual Mardi Gras Ball at 8 p.m. Feb. 4 in the Marne Club on Fort Stewart.
Attire is semi-formal, with or without mask or costume. Light refreshments will be served.
Tickets are $30 per person, $50 per couple and $200 for a reserved table. 
Proceeds will go to the local scholarship fund and as donations to various community organizations.
Tickets can be purchased from any Hinesville Sorority Member.
