The Friends of the Richmond Hill Library will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the large conference room of the library.
A topic of discussion will be the forthcoming spring book and yard sale set for April 5. Donations of all types of used books are needed for the sale. Items should be brought to the library during hours of operation.
All interested persons are invited to attend the meeting.

Garden Club meeting
The Richmond Hill Garden Club will meet at 10 a.m. Feb. 12 in the John W. Stevens Wetlands Education Center in J.F. Gregory Park. The speaker will be Mary Sweeney-Reeves of the Georgia Wetlands Program. The public is invited.

Daylily society
Interested in discovering daylilies? Consider joining the new Ogeechee Daylily Society. Meetings are at 7 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month at Pembroke Public Library.

Seeking volunteers
Savannah Promise Walk for Pre-eclampsia, set for May 3 in J.F. Gregory Park in Richmond Hill, is looking for volunteers to help on walk day.
The fundraiser is also seeking donations for the silent auction that will be held on the day of the walk.

Veterans needed
Honor Flight Savannah is offering World War II and Korean War-era veterans living in southeast Georgia and South Carolina an all-expense paid trip to Washington, D.C., to visit their war memorials.

Honor Flight Savannah is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing free trips to Washington, D.C., for area veterans. Funding for trips is dependent on contributions from community citizens and businesses.

School council meeting
The Lanier Primary School Council will have meetings at 4 p.m. Feb. 10 and April 28 in the school media center.
The council will discuss and seek input on the school improvement plan, the accreditation process, increasing parental involvement and other topics.
The council is made up of parents and community business members elected by LPS parents who provide feedback and input on continuous school improvement. The public is welcome to attend.

Stargazing party

Join Fort McAllister State Historic Park for a Valentines under Venus Stargazing Party from 7-8 p.m. Feb. 14 at the park off the Highway 144 Spur in Richmond Hill.
It will be a night beneath the moon and stars as visitors learn and solve the secrets of space with Donna Mullenax, a professor of astronomy and physics at Armstrong Atlantic State University. Bring a blanket and a picnic dinner to eat under the stars. Alcohol is prohibited.
The cost is $5 for a ParkPass plus $7 for individual admission.
