The Richmond Hill and Pembroke public libraries hope to offer computer classes to the public beginning this fall.
Library officials would like to have input from those who are interested in attending the classes. The classes will be using laptop computers purchased with funds provided by a grant from the Praxair Foundation.

Twilight market
The Whistle Stop Farmers Market in Pembroke will host a special “Farmers Market at Twilight” from 6-9 p.m. Aug. 6 instead of the usual morning market.
The special evening market will boast all the usual goodies, plus a few extras, including bounce houses, face painting, balloons and carnival games and a chance to dunk Police Chief Mark Crowe in a dunking booth. The Disney movie “Rio” will be shown around 8:15 p.m. and the local band “Driven” will also perform.

Saturday fun
Fort King George State Historic Site will host its monthly First Saturday Fun at the fort from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 6 at the site in Darien.
Volunteers will be firing the fort’s cannon, as well as doing musket drills and conducting hands-on games for children. Activities such as a scavenger hunt, rolling hoops, tug-of-war and exploring the site’s nature trail are but a few of the various activities that families can enjoy while visiting the fort during this time.

Health screenings
Free health screenings for school children are being offered to military families from 8 to noon Aug. 20 at Winn Army Community Hospital on Fort Stewart.

Homecoming
Pastor Gary Quinney and the members of Corinth Baptist Church invite friends and former members to celebrate homecoming at 10:30 a.m. Aug. 14 at 19536 Hwy. 144, 10 miles east of Hwy. 17. 
The Rev. Travis Cowart will be the guest preacher for the morning worship service, after which there will be a covered-dish lunch in the social hall. Seating will also be available in the pavilion. After lunch will be a concert by The New Hymnsmen in the sanctuary.
