The Richmond Hill Public Library will be offering movie events during the month of April.
Movies for adults will be shown at 1 p.m. each Friday, and Teen Movie Night will be at 6 p.m. Saturday. A movie for elementary age children will be shown at 2 p.m. April 20.
The events are free, and all movie night attendees are asked to refrain from bringing food and drinks to the library. Please be courteous and be on time.

Toastmasters
Toastmasters of Richmond Hill is looking for new members. Come develop communication skills every week from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. Fridays on the second floor of Magnolia Manor at 141 Timber Trail Road.
This organization is great for professionals or individuals looking to improve interviewing skills, public speaking and listening skills, and leadership skills.

Easter egg hunt
Living Independence For Everyone will have its first-ever talking, laughing Easter egg hunt for children with disabilities ages 5-12 and their families and friends from 10-11 a.m. Saturday at the Bamboo Farm at 2 Canebrake Road in Savannah.
RSVP to Denise Howard at (912) 920-2414 today to let them know how many children you are bringing and if you need any accommodations such as a sign-language interpreter or materials in an alternative format, such as Braille. Kids should bring their own baskets.
The talking eggs assist blind and visually impaired children. The eggs keep calling until they are found and opened.

Healthy kids
The YMCA of Coastal Georgia will host a Healthy Kids Day at each of its branches, including 154 Thunderbird Drive, Richmond Hill, from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday.
The event, which is free to the public, will feature activities for families to have fun, be active and learn ways to improve their health.

Church barbecue
The August birth month of the Bryan Neck Missionary Baptist Church is sponsoring a fundraiser dinner from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the church at 16525 Hwy. 144 south of Richmond Hill.
A slab of ribs is $20 and dinners are $10 and will include barbecue ribs, baked and barbecue chicken, potato salad, backbone rice, collard greens and cornbread.

Canoe excursions
Fort King George will have canoe excursions at 8 a.m. Saturday and 30 for $25 per person.
Participants will meet at Fort King George Historic Site Museum to travel down the Altamaha River through 19th-century rice fields teeming with wildlife and history. Then they will travel down Cathead Creek and finish at Skippers Seafood dock. Guided interpretation will be provided along the way.
Canoes, paddles and life jackets are furnished. Guests are advised to bring plenty of water, snacks and sunscreen. Bugs rarely are a factor on these trips.

Church tea party

The Presbyterian Women of Richmond Hill Presbyterian Church will host an afternoon tea for ladies in the area at 3 p.m. Saturday at The Manse on Belfast Keller Road.
A tour of the historic church will be a part of the afternoon’s entertainment, as well as harp music, good eats and premium teas.

Society sale
The Richmond Hill Historical Society will hold a book, bake and yard sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Richmond Hill History Museum on Ford Avenue.
The historical society is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving the history of Richmond Hill and Bryan Neck. The sale will benefit the maintenance and operation of the museum.

Art exhibit
Arts on the Coast Association is having its annual Spring Art Exhibit and Artists’ Reception from Tuesday through April 25 at the Richmond Hill City Center.
Members will feature their art during the following times: 9 a.m.-5 p.m. April 19-21; 9 a.m.-8 p.m. April 22; 10 a.m.-5 p.m. April 23; 11 a.m.-4 p.m. April 24; and 9 a.m.-8:30 p.m. April 25.
An artists’ reception will be from 6-8:30 p.m. April 25. Appetizers and a cash bar will be provided at the reception. The event is open to the public with free admission and parking.

Fashion show
The Savannah Area Women’s Christian Ministry is having a spring fashion-show luncheon at noon April 27 at Carey Hilliard’s Banquet Room, 11111 Abercorn St. Ext. The cost is $11.25 per person.
Models will display Dress Barn fashions with Charlotte Clark as the narrator. Claire Hodges, the founder of the Living Vine, will provide music. Speaker Jean Derrick from Chapen, S.C., will tell her story about “the best and biggest gift she ever received.”

Spring fling gala
There will be a spring fling gala from 6-10 p.m. April 30 in the Richmond Hill City Center at J.F. Gregory Park.
The event will include dinner, a DJ, dancing and a silent auction. Tickets start at $50. All proceeds benefit the Autism Support Corner Inc., a local nonprofit that provides support and resources to area families affected by autism.

Save-A-Life
Save-A-Life Inc. will participate in the PetSmart Charities National Adoption Weekend the weekend of April 29-May 1 at at 11132 Abercorn St. in Savannah.
The nonprofit organization will be at PetSmart from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. April 29 in the store; 10 a.m.-6 p.m. April 30 in the tent; and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. May 1 in the tent.
You can meet the dedicated volunteers, join in saving lives and give one of the pets a permanent home. You also can donate used ink cartridges to help raise funds.
