Pembroke Christian Church hosts a weekly Prayer/Praise for Rain Service every Monday evening at 7 p.m. Everyone is invited. This service is sponsored by the North Bryan County Ministerial Association.

Historical Program
The Immortal Six Hundred Camp 2600 of the Sons of Confederate Veterans invites the public to attend an historical program on the CSS Hunley, the first submarine to sink an enemy warship.  The program is at the Wetlands Center in Gregory Park at 7 p.m. Thursday.  The public is invited and there is no charge.
The program will be presented by Mr. Jack Marlar, the Southern History Advisor to the Hunley Commission.  Come and learn more about the unintended prototype that the Germans used to develop their U-boats, infamous in WW I and WW II.  For more information, see www.600csa.com  and www.hunley.org. Deacons Appreciation Day

Deacons Appreciation Day will be celebrated at the Bryan Neck Missionary Baptist Church at 7 p.m. Friday. The guest speaker will be Terrence C. Riley of Fairmont Baptist Church.  The theme is “I’m a Soldier on the Battlefield Fighting for the Lord.”   For more information call 727-2163.

Alzheimer’s fundraiser
Bryan County Health and Rehabilitation Center will be having a yard sale with all proceeds going to benefit the Walk to End Alzheimer’s. The fundraiser will take place beginning at 8 a.m. Saturday in the parking lot at 127 Carter Street (located behind the Methodist Church on Ford Avenue). Hamburger lunches, including chips and a drink, will be available for purchase from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. for $2.50.

Fundraiser dinner
The August Birth Month of the Bryan Neck Missionary Baptist Church is sponsoring a fundraiser dinner April 14, 20 and 21 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.  Dinners are $10 and a slab of ribs is $20.  Dinners consist of BBQ ribs, BBQ chicken, fried shrimp, potato salad, back/bone and rice, collard green call  Mrs. Dolly Greene at 756-2412 or on the day of the dinner at 727-2163. 
Dinners can be picked up at the fellowship hall.

Asperger Support Group
Richmond Hill Asperger Support Group will meet at 7 p.m., April 17 at the Richmond Hill Public Library.  The guest speaker is a music therapist. Contact rhaspergergroup@aol.com for more information.

Talent show
Richmond Hill High School will hold a talent show beginning at 7 p.m. April 19 in the gym.  Students will sing, dance, rap, play guitar, recite poetry, play the piano and take part in slam dunk and 3-point shooting contests and more.  The public is invited.

Captured flag returns
A celebration will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 21 at Fort McAllister State Park to mark the return of the original Confederate flag, which was captured in 1864. A descendent of the Union soldier who captured the flag will speak. There will also be Civil War re-enactments, cannon firings and military drills. For more information call 727-2339.

Garage Sale
The second Annual Treasures on the Hill Ultimate Garage Sale sponsored by George Washington Carver Elementary School PTSO will be held Saturday, April 21 from 8 a.m.-noon at the school.  Those interested in renting a space should call 667-4097 for more information.
