Winner of the Richmond Hill Garden Club’s Yard of the Month for May is the home of Arlene and Danny Smith at 701 Oxford Drive in Oxford subdivision.

The front yard is filled with roses in full bloom, daylilies that are just starting their blooming season and clematis that are climbing trellises. Mixed in with all of these are other perennials and annuals. Meanwhile, the back yard hosts hydrangeas, hosta, shasta daisies, more clematis and other plants.

“This yard is truly a neighborhood jewel,” said Richmond Hill Garden Club member Gloria Shearin.

Arlene Smith said she does most of the yard work and her husband builds the projects she dreams up, including the lovely arch and gate to their back yard.
