Citizens EMS academy planned

Bryan County Emergency Services has announced the inaugural Citizens Emergency Services Academy will run from 7-10 p.m. for eight consecutive Thursdays beginning Sept. 11 and concluding Oct. 30. 
The academy is designed to familiarize citizens with the operation and function of BCES. Classes will cover topics such as history and overview of the department, fire safety, protective clothing, portable fire extinguishers, fire apparatus and emergency medical equipment, auto extrication, special operations and more.
