Church's barbecue, dedication set

For the first time in its 62-year history, Richmond Hill United Methodist Church will hold its annual barbecue Nov. 3 in conjunction with a homecoming celebration and playground dedication.
Immediately after the 11 a.m. worship service, a lunch will be served followed by fellowship and games for all ages. Everyone is invited. Tickets must be purchased in advance, however.
During the festivities, the new playground, “Matt’s Backyard,” will be dedicated.
The playground is named in memory of longtime Richmond Hill United Methodist Church member Marine Capt. Matthew Freeman, who was killed while serving in Afghanistan in 2009.
Bulk sales of Boston butts, ribs, apples, potato salad and barbecue sauce will be available only on Nov. 2 but must be placed and paid for in advance.
For orders and payment, call 756-2190 or go to www.rhumc.com.
