Apostle Wilhelmenia E. Brown and the Faithful Temple Church are hosting a Week of the Young Child event today through April 17. As part of the national Week of the Young Child celebration, Hinesville is honoring children and those who make a difference in the lives of youth. All children need and deserve quality learning experiences that will prepare them for life, and communities must work together to provide those experiences.
This Monday through Friday, Faithful Temple Church will host the Hinesville Police Department, the Liberty County Fire Department, the Liberty County public library and other groups who will provide fun, educational activities for area children. All activities will take place at the church, 1060 S. Main St., from 5:30-7 p.m. Refreshments will be served, and the events are free and open to the public.
The week will culminate with a recognition ceremony at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 17, at the North Main Street Park next to The Coastal Bank. Mayor Jim Thomas will recognize and award area day care providers, elementary school principals and teachers for their service to the children of the community. Any educators or care providers can call 977-5327 to be included or to nominate others.
