Bryan County News readers can now easily access the latest stories, headline and photos on the go. The newspaper recently launched a new version of its website for cell phones and other mobile devices. The site, viewable on all handheld web browsers, is at www.bryancountynews.net/m.

Bryancountynews.net/m is a mobile site, not an application for a specific mobile device, and should work well with most mobile devices, Bryan County News web editor Pat Watkins said.
Whenever a user accesses the Bryan County News regular site with a mobile device, the reader automatically will be routed to the mobile site.

“More people are getting some of their news on smart phones and this new mobile site is designed to get our readers headline news quickly,” Watkins said. “It will have breaking news alerts. Subscribers can even read full stories and view the photographs that accompany them.”

The Bryan County News mobile site was built by Morris Multimedia’s development team, which is based at Georgia Southern University.

“Our goal has been to expand local news delivery options to our readers, and this is one more way to do that,” said Bryan County News publisher Mark Griffin. “We think this mobile site is good and will benefit those who want to know what is happening in Bryan County.”

Bryan County News editor Lori Wynn said she hopes readers will take advantage of the site, which she said offers quality content in an easily-accessible format.

“I’m thrilled to have a mobile version our website up and running,” she said. “In this day and age when almost everyone can browse the Internet from their phones, this mobile site will allow our readers to easily keep up with what’s going on in their hometown while they’re on the go.”
