In celebration of 2013 Georgia Cities Week later this month, the city of Pembroke is hosting its inaugural art exhibit, Pembroke Through My Eyes.
The exhibit will feature photography and artwork from residents. Drawings, paintings and photographs from all levels of artist are welcome, and should reflect the everyday life, places and people of Pembroke.
Suggested images, which must be framed and ready to hang, include everyday street scenes, parks, buildings, homes, schools, community celebrations, parades, children playing, special events, neighborhoods, individuals and families. Historical photographs and paintings of Pembroke are also welcomed.
The grand opening and ribbon cutting is from 2-5 p.m. April 21 at 38 W. Bacon Street in the “old pharmacy” next door to the theater. The exhibit will be on display from April 21-May 4, though times vary.
Entries will be accepted from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday through April 17 at Pembroke City Hall.
