The Rotary Club of Richmond Hill’s annual fundraiser will feature the ABBA Girlz/ABBA Tribute Band live in concert from 6:30-10:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, at the Richmond Hill City Center.
The City Center will be decorated like a 1970s nightclub with a Greek flair in honor of the Broadway musical and movie, “Mamma Mia,” which was set on a Greek Island. Attendees are encouraged to dress in 1970s gear, Greek Island attire or smart casual clothes.
Tickets are $60 each and includes a buffet dinner and non-alcoholic drinks. A cash bar will be available, including a specially developed “Super Trouper” cocktail for $8, with 20 percent of the proceeds being donated to the club’s charitable fund. There also will be the opportunity to bid on live and silent-auction items before the concert.
“Our annual February themed fundraiser is the main way that we raise money to support our community,” Rotary Club President Lesley Francis said. “We need to raise $20,000 to help us continue with our annual program of scholarships, helping Richmond Hill’s schoolchildren and senior citizens and giving grants to organizations including Horsin’ Around and the United Way. This night is all about reaching out to our community so that we can continue to give back, and the evening also promises the perfect Valentine’s date with great food, music and fun.”
Tickets are available at www.rotaryofrichmondhill.org; by calling Rich DeLong at 531-7867 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org; by calling Teresa Merritt at 667-6258 or emailing email@example.com; and at the Richmond Hill/Bryan County Chamber of Commerce at 2591 Highway 17.
