To eat or not to eat. That is the question we've heard for years. Weve been told that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but has that advice lost its sizzle?

Some studies say skipping breakfast could lead to weight gain, while others found skipping breakfast for four weeks helped overweight people shed pounds. The government's current guidelines say beginning your day with breakfast gives you the fuel you need and can actually help shrink your waistline.

As government health officials are preparing to roll out new 2015 dietary recommendations, will we change the way we begin our day, or just add more to our plate?

From one spectrum to the other, advice is pouring in about the traditional morning routine. So when faced with the decision, to eat or not to eat, consider this thought from sports dietitian Kary Woodruff.
