Young authors recognized in state contest

Several young writers in Bryan County schools were recognized recently when the county winners of the Young Georgia Authors Writing Competition were announced.
They are:
Lanier Primary kindergartener Eli Westcott; Lanier Primary first-grader Rebekah Johnson; Lanier Primary second-grader Jacob Stottlemire;
Richmond Hill Elementary third-grader Kate Sullivan; Bryan County Elementary fourth-grader Gerardo Miguel Escamilla; George Washington Carver Elementary fifth-grader Stella Pierre-Louis; Bryan County Middle School sixth-grader Charlie Flint;
Richmond Hill Middle School seventh-grader Bridgette Noland; Bryan County Middle School eighth-grader Kristen Manchester; Richmond Hill High School junior Emma Morris; and Richmond Hill High School senior Samantha Smith.
According to the Georgia Department of Education, the Young Georgia Authors Writing Competition is a statewide program held each year to encourage Georgia students of all ages to create original works from any genre.
