Wendy Seiler’s second-grade class at Lanier Primary School published a class newspaper during their study of the informational genre of writing.
The paper was titled “Mrs. Seiler’s Class Times,” and each student wrote about an activity from the 2010-2011 school year. During each grading period this school year, students have focused on a different genre of writing.
They have also learned how to write a response to literature in the form of a letter, and they have done narrative writings. During the last nine weeks, students will concentrate on persuasive writings.
