An early release day is set for all Bryan County school students, pre-K through 12th grade, for Oct. 2.
Early dismissal times are as follows:
• North Bryan pre-K/primary/elementary schools: 11:35 a.m.
• North Bryan middle/high schools:  11:30 a.m.
• South Bryan pre-K/primary/elementary schools: noon
• South Bryan middle/high schools: 11:25 a.m.
The early release is part of a campaign to for increasing effective communication between school and home.  It is the school system’s goal to meet with as many parents as possible at all grade levels. Parents should look for communication from their child’s teacher to establish a conference date and time.
On Oct. 2, students will be served an on-the-go style lunch prior to leaving school.  All pre-K students have mandatory conference days in December and May and will not be participating in conferencing on Oct. 2. The pre-K teachers will actually be engaged in training on the early release afternoon.
The Community Education Afterschool Programs (ASP) has adjusted its start time to accommodate the early release schedule.  Those who do not regularly use the Community Education ASP and wish to do so on the early release day will need to complete the necessary documents to ensure their child has afterschool care for Oct. 2. Information specific to Community Education will be sent home via the student, or they can be reached at 912- 459-5116.
Parents who pick up their children from school should adjust their schedules based on the early release dismissal times. Drop-off times for bus-riders will align with the revised dismissal times. A revised bus schedule will be provided to students by his/her bus driver the week of Sept. 30.
