Students attend career day at Gulfstream
BCMS-Gulfstream field trip
Bryan County Middle School students Michael Edwards, Kelly Futch, Chris Howard, Alyssa Gholston, Selah Harn and Sharidon Mafnas recently visited Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. as part of the annual Aviation Career Day.

Bryan County Middle School students participated in the annual Aviation Career Day on Thursday at Gulfstream Aerospace in Savannah.
Aviation Career Day is a half-day event specifically for eighth-grade students interested in learning about aviation and Gulfstream career paths. Each year, around 250 children from surrounding counties participate.
To be eligible for the field trip, BCMS eighth-graders were required to write an essay explaining why they were interested in Gulfstream; the top essay writers were selected to attend.
The field trip consisted of tours of the facility’s departments, including the flight simulator and production-department floor. There also were interactive activities and videos. The students not only learned about engineering, but also design, sales, marketing and product support.
