Richmond Hill High School recent graduates Ben Botelho and Katrina McCann were this year’s recipients of the Rotary Club Jay Gardner scholarship. Each will receive $1,000 per year for four years toward their college education. At Thursday’s meeting, Jim Gardner, Jay’s son, spoke about the scholarship. "Not only are you scholars, but you are also such great community volunteers, leaders and participants," he told Botelho and McCann. Gardner brought former scholarship recipient Ellen Cusimano to the meeting. "This scholarship has given me so many opportunities and I know it will continue to for current and future recipients," Cusimano said. She is a 2003 RHHS graduate, now getting her post-graduate law degree at Georgia University and currently doing a summer clerkship at Gardner’s law firm. Botelho will be attending the University of Kentucky and McCann will be heading to the University of Georgia. Pictured are Gardner, Cusimano, Botelho, McCann and Rotarian Donna Jones.
