Richmond Hill High and Richmond Hill Middle schools will both see changes in administration when students return to the classroom for the 2011-12 school year.

Helen Herndon, the current principal at RHMS, will take over as principal of RHHS, replacing Dr. Charles Spann, who has headed the high school for the past 13 years and is expected to take over as director of Student Services and Transportation.

At RHMS, Dr. William McGrath, the current director of Student Services, will replace Herndon as principal.

Dr. Allen Cox, the current director of Transportation and part-time assistant principal at RHHS, will become the assistant principal at RHMS, replacing Dr. Jane Lynes, who will become an assistant principal at RHHS.

“I think the changes we’ve made will be positive for the schools,” Bryan County Schools Superintendent John Oliver said Tuesday afternoon. “It will be a renewal for Richmond Hill High School, and Richmond Hill Middle School will get a new look, too.”
