The Richmond Hill High School Chorus is leaving Richmond Hill Thursday for  New York to perform at Carnegie Hall this weekend.
There are 26 students and eight adults going, according to chorus director Jamie Hillen.
“We will rehearse Friday, Saturday and Sunday morning in New York, then the concert is at 2 p.m. Sunday afternoon, Easter Sunday, in Carnegie Hall,” Hillen said. “We will be singing together with seven other high schools from all over the country a masterwork by Marten Lauridson, called ‘Lux Aeterna.”
The song is sung in Latin and is in five movements. It takes about 30 minutes to perform and is accompanied by a full orchestra.
