The Richmond Hill High School Competition/Football Cheerleaders held their annual awards banquet Thursday at the Richmond Hill City Center.
The ceremony honored all the hard work and dedication given by the cheerleaders as well as the coaching staff.
Several honored guest were present as the coaches acknowledged captain Danielle McKellery with the “Wildcat Award” and captain Leslie Wall with the “Coaches Award,” noting the girls’ years of dedication and leadership to the high school cheerleading program.
Highest GPA Awards were given to Jen Nethery and Sutton Garrett for their outstanding academic achievements.
Other special mention awards went to Allison Sheppard, Julia Kennedy, Joanna Bayens, Jen Nethery and Katie Hillery for their individual outstanding contributions to the team. 
Varsity lettering was also presented to the cheerleaders, as well as gifts provided by the Booster Club.  
The awards banquet was also a time to say goodbye to the cheerleaders that are part of the graduating class of 2011, most having been on the squad for several seasons.  Senior cheerleaders include: Danielle McKellery, Leslie Wall, Jenna Alderman, Brittany Westin, Nikki Davenport, Brooke Clayton and Erin Moore.
The Booster Club presented coaches Susan Durden, Raven Clark and Dileen Baron with gifts and thanked them for their dedication and personal time, noting the extra weekends and summer vacation given to coach a competition squad.
The coaches are already preparing for the new season, starting with tryouts at the end of February.
