Holdyn Udinsky, a second-grader at Richmond Hill Elementary, recently visited the “War Room” of two-star Gen. Buford Blount, former head of the 3rd Infantry Division.
Blount now lives in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, and is a fraternity brother of Holdyn’s grandfather “Pops,” who has a farm in that area. Blount initially led U.S. troops into Baghdad during the war in Iraq. Blount showed Holdyn all the artifacts he had collected from around the world during his time in the Army.
The retired general then gave Holdyn a War Coin that given to him by a foreign dignitary out of his collection.
