Coastal Georgia Area Head Start/Early Head Start is now accepting applications for the 2013-14 school year.

To apply for Head Start services, the child must be 3 years old and not older than 5 on or before Sept. 1.

To apply for Early Head Start, the child must be between six weeks and 36 months old. Early Head Start also accepts applications from pregnant women who are interested in receiving services during pregnancy and enrolling their newborn into the program after birth.

Services include educational activities, qualified teachers, nutritious meals and snacks, serving children with special needs, health services, computer learning, creative arts, family services and transportation (Head Start only).

The following information is needed to process all applications:

• Birth certificate.

• Proof of income for the last 12 months or calendar year.

• Georgia immunization certificate (form 3231).
