NASHVILLE, Ga. — Harveys has launched its Pigskin Pride contest, in which Georgia customers can vote for their favorite high-school football teams to win $1,000 for one school.

No purchase is required to enter the contest. To participate, customers can text their designated keywords or high-school names to 467467. Each text will represent one vote for their school of choice. There is no limit on the amount of times customers can text for the contest, which ends Nov. 13.

The school with the most votes at the end of football season will receive a $1,000 donation from Harveys. Customers also can opt into the Harveys mobile club and receive bonus coupons in their Harveys Hometown Rewards Key each time they vote. The coupons change on a weekly basis through the duration of the promotion.

Harveys held a similar contest in 2010 and donated $1,000 to Rutland High School in Macon.

Harveys operates 73 stores in Georgia, Florida and South Carolina, including in Pembroke. For more information about the contest, go to harveys-supermarkets.com.

Monthly winners receive $100, with the annual winner getting a $1,000 scholarship.

The Exchange Club has been recognizing students for more than 30 years.

Odom will go on to compete in the Georgia District Exchange Club against students from across the state.
