Locals graduate AASU

Several residents of Bryan County graduated from Armstrong Atlantic State University during the spring 2007 commencement ceremony held on May 5. President Thomas Z. Jones awarded diplomas to over 600 graduates in the college of arts and sciences, the college of health professions, the college of education, the school of computing, and the school of graduate studies.

VSU announces dean's list

The following area students have been named to the Spring 2007 dean’s list at Valdosta State University. Students must maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 and must have a semester grade point average of at least 3.5 with at least nine hours of course work. Grade point averages are based on a 4.0 scale.

Tucker graduates VSU

Ashley Heath Tucker of Richmond Hill is a spring 2007 graduate of Valdosta State University. Tucker earned a bachelor of general studies.

 

Alejandro on dean's list at GT

Hector Alejandro of Richmond Hill made the dean's list for spring semester 2007 at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Undergraduate students earning a 3.00 or higher academic average for the semester gain the distinction of being named to the dean’s list at Georgia Tech.

The following local students were named to the Georgia College & State University dean’s list for spring semester 2007.

To be selected for the dean’s list, a student must earn a minimum grade point average of 3.2 on 12 or more hours of work attempted for the semester and have at least a cumulative grade point average of 2.5.

 

Estill, Streat, Tapper graduate

Coastal Georgia Community College held its 42nd Commencement Exercise on May 4. The 2006-2007 graduating class was the largest in the college’s history. A total of 412 degrees and certificates were conferred. U.S. Representative Jack Kingston was the commencement speaker.

Bryan County graduates are as follows: Sharon Estill, associate of science in nursing; Christy Streat, associate of science in clinical lab technology; Judith Tapper, technical certificate of credit, patient care technician.
