Lanier Primary recently announced Ferra Brown (right) and Dawn Kennedy as Teacher of the Year and Paraprofessional of the year. Brown, a 10-year LPS first grade teacher, said, "It’s wonderful. I enjoy the children. They learn so much." Principal Patti Newman said Brown "is a wonderful teacher who has a gift for reaching every child in her classroom. She was born to be a teacher." Kennedy, a para-pro at LPS for 19 years, has worked with Kindergarten for the last 10. She said, "It’s amazing to see the things they learn, and the difference between the beginning and end of the school year. I love the way their faces light up when they learn something new." Newman said Kennedy is "committed to her work and always willing to help."
