The Bryan County Board of Education will hold a called meeting at 5:30 p.m. Monday in the media center of Richmond Hill Middle School to appoint a new member to the District 3 seat.

The BoE will interview interview applicants for the position before going into a closed session. The board is expected to come out of closed session and vote on an appointment for the seat.

The District 3 seat was vacated in November by former BoE member Charlie Johnson, who left the area for a job in Washington, D.C. The appointed member will serve the remainder of Johnson's unexpired term.
