BoE revises McAllister Elementary attendance area

The Bryan County Board of Education has established a revised draft attendance area for the opening of McAllister Elementary School.  A map of the revised attendance area is available on the Districting webpage which is located at the Bryan County Schools website: www.bryan.k12.ga.us.  Dr. Paul Brooksher, Superintendent, stated, “I truly appreciate the community, the Board of Education and my staff for their commitment to the process and the great feedback received to guide the decision making.”   He also shared that, “The Board of Education has done an exceptional job reviewing, digesting, and discussing all of the information as they work to do what is best for the school system.” 

Many factors were considered and discussed in the development of the draft McAllister Elementary School attendance area.  Below are a few of those factors:   

-Community Forum Feedback from the November 6, 2014 and December 4, 2014 meetings at Richmond Hill Middle School

-Student Safety

-Student Transportation

-Road Infrastructure

-Current and Future Developments in South Bryan County

-Student Growth Projections in South Bryan County

-Elementary School Capacities for Richmond Hill Primary, Richmond Hill Elementary, Carver Elementary and McAllister Elementary

-McAllister Elementary School is scheduled to house 2 to 3 Pre-K classes

Feedback will be solicited as the draft is presented at the 3rd Community Forum on January 8th at 7:00 p.m. at Richmond Hill Middle School.  Feedback also can be submitted via email at: districting@bryan.k12.ga.us.
