The Bryan County High School Junior ROTC team earned five top-three placings during the Area 9 meet Saturday in Metter.

Vanessa Wilson placed first in regulation arms squad to lead the pack for BCHS, which also claimed four third-place finishes: Amy Rountree, regulation squad; Steven Boyd, armed platoon; Logan Scott, unarmed platoon; and Brett Kohler, color guard.

Next up for BCHS is the state meet March 19 in Griffin.

“I think we are there,” said Sfc. Stevie Stringer, who heads up the program with Maj. Charles Mercer. “I think that Bryan County has arrived to where everybody knows now who we are.”
