AYP retest bodes well for three schools

The Bryan County Board of Education got some good news Thursday night – three of the four schools that missed statewide assessment for 2010-11 earlier this year were able to meet the mark after retesting.
“All schools will have met AYP except for Bryan High School,” Superintendent John Oliver told the board Thursday during its regular meeting at Richmond Hill Middle School.
The findings are based on preliminary retest data Oliver said was received earlier this week.
“It’s not technically official, but we know that’s going to be the case,” he said
In the initial AYP findings from the Georgia Department of Education that were released in July, Bryan County Middle, Bryan County High, Bryan County Elementary and Richmond Hill Middle schools all failed to meet the criteria for AYP.
