The Richmond Hill girls’ soccer team won the Region 2-AAAAAA title with a 10-0 win at Bradwell Institute Tuesday night. It is the third region title for the Wildcats in the last four years.

Richmond Hill finished the regular season at 10-7-1 overall and 6-2 in the region. Effingham County and Glynn Academy also finished at 6-2, but the Wildcats earned the tie-breaker for the No. 1 seed, having beaten both the Rebels and the Terrors during the season.

Grace Kiser led the Wildcats against Bradwell with four goals, while Makayla Nudo added three. Kiser and Nudo also had three assists and two assists, respectively, while Murphy King, Nia Binning and Haley Rey each tallied one goal. Goalie Bailey King made two saves.

The state tournament begins April 27.

“We have spring break next week, so that should help get all of our players completely healthy,” Coach Steve Kollman said. “We come back and will have three practices before the first round. If our girls continue to get healthy, come together as a team, continue to practice hard and can focus through the end of the year testing period, then this team can reach the Elite 8 again.”

The Wildcats have reached the Elite 8 each of the last three seasons.

The Richmond Hill boys' soccer team hosts Glynn Academy at 6 p.m. Friday in a game that will determine the region champion.
