Two Richmond Hill Area Tennis Association teams took top spots in their age groups at the USTA Southern Junior Team Tennis State Championship July 21-23 in Macon.

The 14-under teams won first place and the 18U team placed second. The RHATA’s 12U team also competed.

Coach Linda Sun pointed out if was the youngest team’s first tournament.

"The players all are optimistic," Sun said. "Seeing this tournament was a great learning experience."

The program aspires to provide a competitive environment for aspiring players, promoting the development of individual and social growth, and skills.

Teams qualify for the state tournament by beating other teams in the area.
