Students earn academic honors, graduate

Charleston Southern University has named Samantha Paige West of Richmond Hill to the dean’s list for the spring 2017 semester. West is a senior majoring in elementary education.

Charleston Southern names students to the list who have earned a 3.5 GPA or better and 12 or more credit hours.

Georgia Southwestern

Thomas Marciniak of Richmond Hill made the summer academic achievement list at Georgia Southwestern State University.

To be eligible for the list, a student must previously earn at least 12 credit hours at GSW, be enrolled in 3 to 11 hours of courses, and earn a 3.5 or higher GPA.

Colgate University

Robert Humphreys of Richmond Hill earned the Dean’s Award with Distinction for the spring 2017 term at Colgate University in Hamilton, New York.

The award goes to students with a 3.6 or higher term average.

Valdosta State

Megan Lacy of Richmond Hill has received a Georgia Power Foundation and Retention Fund Scholarship at Valdosta State University for 2017-18.

She is one of 279 first-year or transfer students selected by VSU Foundation Inc. The scholarships are awarded to students based on academic achievement and.

Clemson University

Elisa Melvin Berman of Richmond Hill graduated from Clemson University with a master of science in biological sciences.

Berman was among nearly 1,000 students who received degrees a summer graduate ceremonies.
